This year’s Annual Philanthropic Campaign for 2023 is dedicated towards the continued preservation of the Orthodox Christian faith in the Holy Land and Levant. The Order will be raising monetary assistance for the construction and establishment of a new Church and Monastery adjacent to the ancient ruins of a 5th and 6th century church with early Christian mosaic floors near the ancient site of Mar Elias. The ancient churches were dedicated to the Prophet Elias who was bodily assumed into heaven on a chariot of fire. The Greek Orthodox Archdiocese of Amman (Jerusalem Patriarchate) bought the land surrounding the archeological site for the purpose of building the new church and monastery dedicated to this prophet of old. The ruins are a shared responsibility between the Orthodox Church in the Kingdom of Jordan and the Jordanian Ministry of Antiquity.
Additionally, the Order will also be aiding in helping to restore the Orthodox churches and Orthodox holy sites in Syria and Turkey severely damaged by the February 6th earthquake along with those families and individuals affected.
Tax-deductible donations can be made on this website through the donate button. In your donation, please indicate it is for the “Annual Philanthropic Campaign”. All donations for this cause go 100% directly to that purpose. The Order will retain nothing. This fundraiser will last until the end of December 2023.
