The Order of Saint George the Great Martyr is sorry to inform you that the supposed aid delivered to Saint Porphyrios Orthodox Church on the night of December 24th by the Royal Jordanian Air Force did not take place as reported per a WhatsApp message we received from the secretary of His Eminence Archbishop Alexios.
We, like so many of you, are limited to facts on the ground in Gaza and are at the mercy of what our sources share and what the news reports, whether fully true or untrue. The Order had no way of confirming the airdrop with Saint Porphyrios due to the previous communications blackout. Our commitment to the truth is unending, and we will continue to report what we know as it becomes available.
The Order and myself are heartbroken that this humanitarian aid was not delivered, as it is so desperately needed by our brothers and sisters besieged within the walls of Saint Porphyrios.
The Order is happy to confirm that our first round of financial assistance to those afflicted at Saint Porphyrios Orthodox Church is safely in a bank account in Jordan reserved for our use to aid Archbishop Alexios and the Christians in Gaza when the conditions on the ground are more stable.
The Order remains committed to the community of Saint Porphyrios, to Archbishop Alexios of Tiberias, to the Christians of Gaza, to the Greek Orthodox Patriarchate of Jerusalem, and to all the Orthodox Christians who live and breathe across the Holy Land and Greater Middle East.
As head of the Order, I ask that you please continue in your support of our Christian brothers and sisters in the Holy Land, faithfully contributing financially to their needs through our fundraising campaign. Together, we do make a difference! The Order will not stop raising funds for them until their homes, schools, and communities are restored. We will continue to do everything we can until they are all safe.
