The Holy Orthodox Order of Saint George the Great Martyr joins all Christendom in mourning the passing of His Holiness Pope Francis, the late Pontiff of the Roman Catholic Church. In a spirit of reverence and brotherly love, the Grand Knight and the Order were represented today at the Papal funeral by the Order’s European Diplomatic Envoy, Dr. Miceál O’Hurley, J.D., Ph.D.
On behalf of the entire Order, the Grand Knight extends heartfelt condolences to the Roman Catholic faithful throughout the world at the loss of their Shepherd, whose life bore witness to humility, mercy, and steadfast devotion to our Lord Jesus Christ.
May the Holy Spirit guide their deliberations with wisdom and grace, that a worthy Pontiff may be chosen to lead the flock in truth, love, and steadfastness amid the challenges of our time.
May the soul of His Holiness Pope Francis find rest in the peace and mercy of Christ, and may he dwell forever in the holy habitations of heaven.
