New York 23rd of April 2026
Beloved brothers and sisters in Christ,
Christ is Risen! Truly He is Risen!
On this radiant and sacred day, the Holy Orthodox Order of Saint George the Great Martyr lifts its voice in reverence, thanksgiving, and holy remembrance as we celebrate the glorious feast of our heavenly patron, Saint George the Great Martyr and Trophy-Bearer—the valiant soldier of Christ, the fearless witness to the truth, and the eternal defender of the Faith.
Born into nobility yet reborn in Christ, Saint George cast aside the fleeting honors of the world to embrace the eternal crown of martyrdom. Before emperors and earthly powers, he stood unshaken, confessing not the might of Rome, but the sovereignty of the Crucified and Risen Lord. Through torment, suffering, and death, he revealed that no weapon, no decree, and no tyranny can overcome the one who is clothed in the armor of God.
Saint George is not merely a figure of history—he is a living presence in the life of the Church. His witness echoes through the centuries, calling each generation to courage, to faithfulness, and to sacrificial love. His victory is not one of violence, but of holiness. The dragon he overcame is not only the symbol of evil in legend, but the ever-present reality of sin, fear, injustice, and persecution that seeks to silence the light of Christ in every age.
In the lands where the Gospel was first proclaimed—in Jerusalem, in Antioch, in Alexandria, and throughout the Holy Land and the Middle East—our brothers and sisters in Christ continue to bear their cross with quiet strength. They are the living descendants of the Apostles, the guardians of the sacred places, and the keepers of the flame of faith where it first dawned upon the world.
Families struggle to remain rooted in their ancestral homes. Churches that have stood for centuries face uncertainty. Children risk losing not only their future, but their inheritance of faith, language, and identity. And still—like Saint George—they endure.
They endure not because it is easy, but because it is holy.
They endure because Christ endured.
And in their endurance, they become living icons of the very martyrdom we honor today.
As members, friends, and supporters of the Holy Orthodox Order of Saint George the Great Martyr, we are not distant observers of this reality—we are called to stand within it.
To bear the name of Saint George is to accept a sacred responsibility:
to defend the Faith not with the sword, but with love;
to uphold the dignity of the suffering;
to protect the presence of Christ’s people in the very lands sanctified by His life.
We are called to be modern-day trophy-bearers—carrying not banners of conquest, but the Cross of Christ into a world that longs for hope.
Let this feast not pass as a mere remembrance, but as a renewal.
A renewal of our commitment to:
Sustain Christian families across the Holy Land and Middle East
Support the sacred churches and holy sites entrusted to their care
Provide education, humanitarian aid, and spiritual solidarity
Amplify the voices of those who refuse to let the light of Christ be extinguished
For in preserving them, we preserve not only a people—but the living heart of Christianity itself.
Saint George teaches us that faith is not passive. It is not silent in the face of injustice, nor does it retreat before hardship. It stands. It proclaims. It endures.
In every act of charity, every prayer offered, every hand extended in compassion, the spirit of Saint George lives on.
And in every Christian who chooses faith over fear, hope over despair, and love over indifference—the dragon is once again defeated.
On this holy feast, we invite you to enter more deeply into this mission.
Pray for the Christians of the Holy Land and the Middle East.
Remember them not as distant strangers, but as members of the same Body of Christ.
Stand with them—not only in spirit, but in action.
For their struggle is our struggle.
Their survival is our inheritance.
Their faith is our foundation.
And their future… is now entrusted, in part, to us.
Through the intercessions of the Holy Great Martyr George,
may the Lord grant us courage in faith, steadfastness in love,
and the strength to bear witness to His truth in all things.
To Christ be all glory, honor, and worship—
unto the ages of ages. Amen.
Issued with prayerful devotion,
Konstantine Pandolfi E.M.
